ADHD :
ADHD is an abbreviated form of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. This condition is a type of neuro-developmental disorder that affects the brain and causes difficulty with focus or attention and hyperactivity or impulsive nature. It can be caused by genetic mutations, exposure to prenatal smoking or toxins. This condition is often seen in children and is evaluated by standard assessments or questionnaires like DSM-5 by pediatric neuro-psychiatrist. A child with ADHD often presents with other mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, and aggressive disorders. Regular monitoring of the symptoms and medication adjustments are required to properly manage the behavioral and academic development of children affected by ADHD. There are various psychological treatment options, such as brain stimulation therapy and cognitive therapies, to help children with ADHD. Individualized education program, support groups and accommodations can help in academic excellence.
