Stomach Pain :
Stomach pain refers to discomfort in the belly region that can be mild or severe. Causes of mild stomach pain include gas, indigestion, diarrhea, constipation, stress, stomach flu, acid reflux, food poisoning, and vomiting. Causes of severe pain include menstrual cramps, irritable bowel syndrome, lactose intolerance, Crohn's disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease, organ rupture, gallstones, kidney infection, and kidney stones. Types of stomach pain are acute, which lasts for a few hours to days; chronic, which lasts for months; and progressive, which gets worse over time. Symptoms of stomach pain are persistent fever, nausea, vomiting, blood in poop, swelling of the abdomen, jaundice, and shortness of breath. Diagnosis is made by an upper GI X-ray to detect any abnormalities, as well as colonoscopy and endoscopy. Treatments include medications, surgery, or a combination of both. It can be prevented by limiting meal size, regular physical activity, eating slowly, and reducing stress.
