Malaria :
Malaria is a serious illness caused by the plasmodium parasite that spreads to humans through infected mosquito bites. Symptoms may include fever, chills, headache, diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, feeling of discomfort, muscle pain, joint pain, fatigue, rapid breathing, rapid heart rate, and cough. People with pregnancy, five years old children, and weakened immune systems are at higher risk. Complications of malaria could be cerebral malaria, breathing problems, organ failure, anemia, low blood sugar, coma, and death. It can be treated with drugs like artemisinin, atovaquone, chloroquine, doxycycline, mefloquine, quinine, and primaquine. It can be prevented by covering the skin by wearing pants and long-sleeved shirts, applying insect repellent to the skin, applying repellent to clothing, and sleeping under a net.
