Jaundice :
The presence of high bile in the body results in the yellowing of the skin and sclera of the eye, which is known as jaundice. If excess bile exists in the blood, it causes hyperbilirubinemia. Based on the yellowing of the skin and sclera of the eye, similar problems like gall bladder and liver problems can show the same symptoms. Typical symptoms include bloody vomiting, fever, weight loss, dark urine, and chills, and overall flu-like symptoms are noticed. Tests like CBC, LFT(liver function test), and liver biopsy help diagnose jaundice. The following treatment involves finding the underlying cause of the disease, sometimes with no symptoms at all, and phototherapy is used in severe cases of newborns. In adults, prevention may help a lot, like quitting smoking, healthy weight management, decreasing alcohol intake, and avoiding using herbal methods.
