Bronchitis :
Bronchitis is an inflammation of the bronchial tubes that carry air to the lungs. It is a condition in which airways swell up with mucous. It can be acute and chronic, caused by viruses like influenza, adenovirus, rhinovirus, and coronavirus and bacterial like Bordetella pertussis, mycoplasma pneumonia, and chlamydia pneumonia, other causes are pollution, cigarette smoking, and marijuana. Symptoms include shortness of breath, fever, runny nose, and tiredness. People with asthma, chronic acid reflux, autoimmune disorder, and people who smoke and are around air pollutants are at high risk of developing bronchitis. Diagnosis can be made by nasal swabs, chest X-rays, blood tests, sputum tests, and pulmonary function tests. Treatment includes antiviral medications, bronchodilators, anti-inflammatory medications, cough suppressants, antibiotics, and asthma treatments.
