Renal Diet :
A renal diet is a diet for managing kidney diseases. A renal diet will also be known as a kidney diet. In the case of a renal diet, there will be limitations on certain components like potassium, phosphorus, sodium, and protein intake for the healthy functioning of the kidneys. Damaged kidneys will fail to process the filtration of wastes and thus lead to the buildup of various harmful toxins. Then there is a need to have a healthy renal diet for treating the kidney condition. The limitation of nutrients, which includes potassium, sodium, to control high blood pressure, phosphorus, which is not to build up in the blood, and protein intake in order to reduce the load on the kidneys. The foods that are involved in the renal diet will be whole grains with less sodium content, lean proteins, including fish and chicken, and vegetables and fruits. There are certain foods that should be avoided in a renal diet: bananas, salty junk food, dairy products, processed foods, and organ meats. The benefits of having a renal diet will help in maintaining blood pressure, less progression of kidney disease, thus helping to improve the quality of life.
