Andrologist :
An andrologist is a medical doctor who has extensive knowledge and experience in diagnosing and managing problems associated with the male reproductive system and urological issues. To qualify as an andrologist, one has to complete five and half years of graduation MBBS, and pursue post graduation, MS or M Ch in Urology, followed by super specialization in Andrology. Andrologists are concerned with addressing complains like pain or swelling in the testicles, urinary problems like painful urination and also perform semen analysis. They also provide patient education on maintaining male reproductive health, to improve the reproductive capacity of men, manage sperm donation banks, and conduct physical examinations to understand the condition. A wide range of problems are treated by an andrologist, which include male infertility, penile problems, premature ejaculation, male hormone (testosterone) deficiency, sexual dysfunctions and low sperm count. Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and related complains are also identified and treated by andrologists.
