Sexologist :
A sexologist refers to a doctor who specializes in the study of human sexuality, sexual function and sexual dysfunctions. To become a sexologist, one should complete five and half years of graduation in MBBS, followed by pursuing post graduation in MD in Psychiatry, and an additional super specialization in Sexual Medicine. A wide range of problems related to gender identity, sex and intimacy and sexual orientation are addressed by a sexologist. Sexologists hold great knowledge and thus provide quality sexual health education and teach about general sexual health also. The various treatments offered by a sexologist include psychological therapies, counseling on a wide range of topics related to sex and relationship counseling. Sexologists help patients with concerns like performance problems, who face difficulty in maintaining or achieving sexual satisfaction, also solve relationship issues that impact sexual intimacy, and those with mismatched sexual desire.
