worm infestation :
Worm infestation is called as helminthiasis. There are various types of worm infestations, which include hookworms, roundworms, pinworms, and tapeworms. Worm infestation will be caused due to many reasons, such as poor hygiene, transmission through infected individuals, eating or drinking contaminated food and water, and walking barefoot over contaminated soil. The symptoms that will be observed in worm infestations will be pain in the abdomen, anaemia, vomiting, weakness, diarrhoea, loss of appetite, weight loss, fatigue, malnutrition, coughing, itching in the anal region, and passing of worms in stools. Worm infestation will be detected based on the physical examination, MRI scan, ultrasound examination, X-rays, blood tests, and colonoscopy. The treatment advised for worm infestations will be through medications to destroy the microorganisms, preventing the spread of infestation to other individuals, and practising good hygiene. The preventive measures will be drinking purified water, consuming well-cooked meat at high temperatures, washing hands regularly, and eating freshly cooked food.
