Warts in Children :
Warts in children are harmless growths caused by human papillomavirus, which can spread to other parts of the body and other people. It is mostly seen in girls between the ages of 12 to 16. Common warts, flat warts, plantar and palmar warts, filiform warts, and periungual warts are types of warts. Common warts have a rough surface commonly seen on fingers, elbows, knees, and face and are grayish yellow to brown in color. Plantar and palmar warts grow on the soles of the feet and palms of the hand, which may be painful. Flat warts are small and smooth growths that commonly appear on children's faces. Filiform warts are small, narrow, and long and appear on lips, neck, eyelids, and face. Periungual warts are seen around the nails as thickened skin, which can cause painful fissures. Diagnosis is made by doing a biopsy.
