Rheumatoid arthritis :
Rheumatoid arthritis is described as a chronic medical condition and an autoimmune disease that affects the lining of the joints of the hands, wrists, fingers, knees, ankles, feet and toes. The presenting complaints of rheumatoid arthritis are pain, swelling, stiffness and tenderness in joints, fatigue, weakness, fever, stiffness after for long hours and especially seen in the mornings. People with obesity complaints, those with similar family history, and those with chronic smoking habit are more prone to be affected by rheumatoid arthritis. The diagnostic tests that help in identifying this condition are imaging techniques like X-rays, ultrasounds, and MRI scans and blood investigations to evaluate CRP, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, cyclic citrullinated peptide antibodies and rheumatoid factor. Rheumatoid arthritis is managed by various methods involving medications and surgical procedures such as hip replacement, knee replacement, and other surgeries to correct a deformity.
