Glaucoma :
Glaucoma refers to a group of eye diseases that are progressive and eventually lead to permanent loss of vision and blindness. It is caused by optic nerve damage due to increased pressure within the eye. Symptoms may include eye pain, headaches, red eyes, double vision, blurred vision, low vision developing gradually, blind spots, and defects like tunnel vision. Severe symptoms include blood in front of the iris, bulging eyeballs, nausea and vomiting, an increase of floaters, rainbow-colored lights, sudden vision loss, and flashing lights appearing suddenly. Types of glaucoma include primary open-angle glaucoma, primary angle closure glaucoma, secondary glaucoma, and congenital glaucoma. Risk factors include older age people, people with myopia and hyperopia, and chronic conditions like high blood pressure and diabetes.
