Glaucoma :
Glaucoma comprises a set of eye diseases that impair vision and cause permanent loss of vision. The significant signs of glaucoma that need immediate care are blood gathering in front of the iris, bulged eyeballs, rainbow- colored halos around the lights, sudden appearance or increase in floaters, nausea and vomiting due to eye pain or pressure, sudden seeing flashing lights in the vision, and sudden loss of vision. The other presenting complaints of glaucoma are eye pain, headache, red eyes, blurred vision, double vision, and gradually developing low vision and gradually developing blind spots like visual field defects such as scotomas and tunnel vision. Glaucoma is classified into several types such as congenital glaucoma, primary open angle glaucoma, primary angle closure glaucoma and secondary primary open angle glaucoma. The management of glaucoma includes taking medications to reduce the ocular hypertension, performing glaucoma surgeries like trabeculectomy, tube shunts, minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries and laser therapy.
