Fever is a coined word for increased temperature of the body, caused by underlying infections or inflammations. Fever can vary based on the grading of the temperature, low grade fever and high grade fever. Fever can be nocturnal, intermittent, recurrent, continuous based on the preexisting medical conditions. Administration of vaccinations or antibiotics can flare up the temperature of the body. Fever can be associated with chills, sweating, weakness, body pains and headache. Adequate hydration, electrolyte intake, antipyretics and cooling measures can help with management of fever. If symptoms worsen or associate with warning signs, seeking medical attention is mandatory to rule out many conditions.
