Clavicle Fracture :
Clavicle fracture, also known as a broken collarbone, is a common injury that occurs due to trauma either to the shoulder or direct impact on the clavicle. It is most commonly seen twice in children than adults. Football players, wrestlers, and ice hockey players tend to have a higher risk of getting a clavicle fracture. Symptoms of clavicle bone are pain, sagging shoulder, grinding sensation while raising the arm, tenderness, swelling, bruising, deformity that develops over the break, and inability to lift the arm. Diagnosis is made by physical examination, X-rays, and CT scan. If the broken ends of the bone are in their position and have not been shifted out of place, they are treated with arm support, medication, physical therapy, and doctor follow-up. If the bone is moved, surgery is recommended that includes plates and screws, pins, and rehabilitation.
