Chickenpox :
Chickenpox is an infection caused by a strain of virus called the varicella-zoster virus. It is highly contagious and tends to affect children more than adults. An infected individual develops rashes and blisters all over the body, and these skin changes are known as the classic signs of chickenpox. The rashes associated with this condition tend to first develop on the face before spreading to the entire body. As time passes, the rashes turn into blisters that pop open before drying and healing. Such skin changes tend to occur over a period of roughly two weeks.
Besides the skin changes, chickenpox can cause symptoms like stomachache, fever, tiredness and headache. A doctor can diagnose this infection by inquiring about the symptoms. There is no cure for this infection but a doctor may prescribe medicines to provide relief from the symptoms. The infection subsides on its own in about two weeks.
