scabies :
Scabies is caused a parasite called Sarcoptes Scabiei. It burrows the skin and live there. The chance of spread is mostly through prolonged direct contact and mostly seen in where people live in groups such as hostels, prisons, etc.
Symptoms may appear 2 - 4 weeks after exposure and include severe itch, small pimple like rash. These are mostly seen in areas like waist line, between fingers, armpits, groins, gluteal region, elbow folds and knee folds. Treatment include Scabicidal topical creams such as Permethrin and sulfur creams to kill eggs and larvae. Personal hygiene is necessary to prevent the spread.
