Andrologist :
Andrologists are specialists who diagnose and treat problems affecting the male reproductive system. These specialists treat problems such as hormonal imbalances, testicular diseases, prostrate gland problems and erectile dysfunction. Andrologists can also provide relief from urological problems such as cystitis, urinary tract infections and urethritis in males. To become an andrologist, an MBBS graduate must earn a super-specialization degree, such as a DNB in Urology and then do a fellowship in andrology. Andrologists check a patient's condition with a physical exam and by ordering tests such as semen analysis, biopsies, urine tests and blood tests. The results of these tests allow the doctor to diagnose a patient accurately. A male needs to consult an andrologist for problems such as painful erections, swelling in the testicles, blood in the urine and genital itching. These specialists can also provide relief from problems like low libido, sexually transmitted diseases, genital itching and pain or swelling in the prostate region.
