Trigger Finger medically known as stenosing tenosynovitis is a condition in which there is a catching or locking of the involved finger more often the ring finger causing finger tenderness and pain that leads to limited finger movement making it difficult to bend or straighten the finger. Trigger finger is characterized by symptoms such as tenderness of the involved finger, clicking sound with movement,soreness, and lump around the base of the finger etc.This condition is prevalent in women than in men and is treated through both medical as well as surgical therapy . Diabetes, hyperthyroidism,rheumatoid arthritis, tuberculosis and aging are certain risk factors associated with trigger finger.
