Factors like family history, aging, chronic eye inflammation and extensive eye rubbing can increase the risk of keratoconus. Individuals with this condition often remain unaware, thus some of the alarming signs one can look for are blurry vision and difficulty seeing at nights, while some of the other symptoms of this condition include glare or halos around light, sudden clouding of the vision, increased sensitivity to bright light, eye irritation, and headaches.
Corneal topography, Slit lamp test, pachymetry are s the investigations used to diagnose Keratoconus.Treatment depends on the stage of the disease involving corrective lens and transplantation.
