Cesarean Section :
Cesarean Section or C section refers to a type of delivery where the fetus is delivered via a large incision in the lower part of the abdomen. When normal or vaginal delivery is contraindicated, C section is used as a surgical alternative.
Some common reasons where C section is preferred over normal delivery are abnormal fetal position or heart rate. C section is usually planned during the second or third trimesters and necessary arrangements are made ahead of time. After the baby is delivered, stitches are placed to close the incision.
