Paediatric Rheumatologist :
A paediatric rheumatologist is a specialist who mainly deals with providing diagnosis and treatment of autoimmune diseases in children and adolescents. A paediatric rheumatologist is qualified with a graduation in MBBS, followed by post-graduation in MD or DNB in paediatrics. Further, they will possess a fellowship in pediatric rheumatology. A paediatric rheumatologist can provide treatment for a wide range of conditions, such as connective tissue disorders, autoimmune diseases, like arthritis, dermatomyositis, vasculitis, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), scleroderma, and musculoskeletal pain in bones, muscles, and joints. When there are symptoms such as joints pain, stiffness of joints, swelling of joints, limping type of walking, change in walking (gait), skin rashes, mouth ulcers, eye problems like pain, changes in vision, redness, prolonged fever, fatigue or weakness, development issues, growth problems, the child should be needed to check with a paediatric rheumatologist for the diagnosis and treatment of the condition.
