Worm infestation :
Helmenthiasis is commonly known as worm infestation. It is a parasitic infection in humans and animals, affecting the intestine although the infection can also migrate to other parts of the body. The parasitic worm that infects the body is called as Helmenthis hence the name helmenthiasis, which is further classified into a variety of species namely flukes, tape worms, round worms, pin worms, hook worms, and whip worms etc.
Worm infestation is commonly characterised by symptoms such as stomach discomfort , nausea , vomiting , presence of worms in stools, poor appetite, extreme and sudden weight loss, blood in stools and fever. The mode of transmission of this disease is through ingestion of contaminated water, food, vegetables, and raw meet.
