Coronary Angiogram / Angiography :
Coronary angiogram/ angiography is the diagnostic procedure performed to examine any clots in the vessels of the heart /coronary arteries. It uses assistance of x-rays and catheter to find the blood clot. The catheter is a thin and flexible tube with camera at the opposite end. It is performed prior to any need for surgical intervention. After the approach is made into the artery, a contrasting dye is sent via tube, which becomes stagnant at the site of blockage or restriction in the blood vessel. At that particular site, x-rays were obtained known as coronary angiograms and the procedure is referred to as coronary angiography.
