Mums :
Mumps is a viral infection that tends to affect children who are not vaccinated against it. It is also sometimes called "mums" in common language. The infection initially causes symptoms like fever, tiredness and headache. However, as the infection progresses, it causes the salivary glands in the mouth to swell up. This causes swelling in the face, puffy cheeks and tenderness in the jaws, which are all known as the classic signs of mumps.
The diagnosis of mumps requires a swab test of the mucus in the mouth or throat. A lab test of the sample can confirm whether an individual is infected with mumps. Mumps has no specific treatment and like many other viral infections, it subsides on its own. Recovery from this condition can take up to two weeks. In some cases, a doctor may prescribe medicines that provide relief from the symptoms.Found 60 Doctors for Mums Treatment in Vijayawada
