Monkey pox is a viral infection that spreads from the Orthopoxvirus monkey pox and affects both human beings and animals. The significant signs of monkey pox are fever, rash, skin ulcers or blisters, headache, chills, muscle aches, fatigue, and swollen lymph nodes. The modes of transmission of monkey pox virus are through intimate contact, direct contact with blood, other bodily fluids, monkey pox sores or scabs, mucus or saliva, by getting in contact with materials like beds, clothing, and towels used by a person who is infected, and vertical transmission from a pregnant woman to the fetus. The full-fledged management options for monkeypox are not yet available. The best treatment option to deal with monkeypox now is giving antiviral drugs. The measures to be taken to prevent monkey pox disease are not touching monkey pox rashes, vaccination, practicing safe sex, avoiding close contact with people, maintaining hygiene, and wearing a mask to cover the mouth and nose.
