Low Blood Pressure
Low blood pressure is also known as hypotension is a medical condition in which the blood pressure in the arteries is lower than the normal (<90/60mmHg) and the person experiences some classic symptoms like dizziness or lightheadedness, weakness, headaches, fainting suddenly, rapid or shallow breathing, confusion,disorientation, clammy and cold skin, increased thirst, nausea etc,. It can occur due to various causes like dehydration or fluid loss, blood loss or internal bleeding, certain medications used for high blood pressure, sepsis, heart failure , nutritional deficiencies, hormonal changes etc. Some people experience hypotension and dizziness when they stand or sit suddenly known as orthostatic hypotension.low blood pressure should be immediately treated to prevent further complications by increase in fluid intake, salt consumption,medications and lifestyle changes like avoiding to stand for long periods, change positions slowly and avoiding heavy lifting etc.
