Hyperthyroidism is the excessive production of thyroxine hormone due to an overactive thyroid gland. Some of the symptoms associated with hyperthyroidism include weight loss, increased hunger, rapid or irregular heartbeats, sweating, hand tremors, etc. There are certain conditons that can lead to hyperthyroidism such as Graves' disease, thyroiditis, etc. When left untreated, hyperthyroidism can lead to many complications such as heart problems, brittle bones, vision problems, etc.
