Diarrhoea :

Diarrhea is loose, watery stools with increased frequency i.e., more than 2-3 times a day. Diarrhea is mainly caused due to various bacterial, viral and parasitic infections from unhygienic food or water. It also results from taking intolerant food like lactose, sugars, certain medication and underlying GI disorders.

Symptoms include frequent, loose, watery stools, abdominal cramps, gripping pain in the stomach, bloating, dehydration. The only treatment needed in most of the cases of diarrhea is re-hydration. According to the need lost fluids should be replaced either through IV or by ORSL. Anti-biotics and anti-parasitic drugs should be administered if there is infection.
