Circumcision :
Circumcision is a procedure in which the skin present around the head of the penis is removed. It is commonly performed on newborns, but adults can also opt for it.
Before the procedure begins, the penis is cleaned and the doctor rubs numbing cream on the penis, so the patient does not feel any pain. In some cases, an injection may be provided to numb the penis. Next, the doctor separates the foreskin from the penis. Finally, the skin is removed with the help of a scalpel. The removal of the foreskin can also be done using a clamp device. Once the doctor removes the foreskin, they may use self-dissolving stitches to stop bleeding and reduce scarring. The procedure usually takes 20 minutes and most patients can return to routine life within a week.
