Burns :
Burns are a type of injury that occurs due to high temperatures over a large surface area of the body. The five types of burns will be electrical burns, thermal burns, radiation burns, and friction burns. There will be three degrees of burns, which include superficial/first degree burn, partial thickness/second degree burn, and full thickness/third degree burn. The symptoms that will be observed in burns will be severe pain, appearance of skin changes causing blisters, and colour changes in the skin. The diagnosis of burns will be done based on the examination of the injury, and a CT scan and an MRI scan are advised to detect the damage that has occurred to the deeper tissues. The treatment advised for burns will be through medications to relieve pain, cleaning and dressing over the injury, surgery, and wound care. The complications that are seen in the case of burns will be scarring, infections, and swelling. The severe complications will be dehydration, hypothermia, and trouble breathing.
