Bronchoscopy :
Bronchoscopy is a treatment procedure that is used for the diagnosis and management of lung diseases. Bronchoscopy will be a minimally invasive procedure, which is done with a bronchoscope, a thin, light tube with a camera at the end. The bronchoscope is placed inside the lungs through the nose or mouth. The pulmonologist can examine the airways with the images captured by the camera. Thus, they can diagnose the disease in the lungs. Bronchoscopy is helpful to treat many respiratory conditions. Bronchoscopy is mainly done in case of severe coughing up blood, severe shortness of breath, to analyse and to clear airway blockages, to detect the causes of inflammation, a sample of mucus is taken for the diagnosis in the lab, and helps in the placement of a stent to maintain the airways open. There will be complications that are seen with bronchoscopy that are uncommon. There will be rare complications, which include bleeding, fever, and a collapsed lung.
