Bleeding During pregnancy :
Bleeding during pregnancy is called vaginal bleeding or spotting. Blood spotting is one of the common symptoms of the first few weeks of pregnancy, but not always common and should not be neglected. When there is bleeding during pregnancy, it is important to consult a gynaecologist as it is due to other underlying causes. The possible causes are implantation bleeding, miscarriage, changes in hormonal levels, ectopic pregnancy, cervical polyps, molar pregnancy, placenta previa, miscarriage, placental abruption, any cervical changes, vasa previa, preterm labor at 37 weeks of pregnancy, subchorionic hematoma, bloody show at the end of the pregnancy. This vaginal bleeding can be diagnosed with an ultrasound scan and blood tests. Then, the treatment is advised based on the cause of the bleeding. When there is heavy bleeding along with fever, fainting, dizziness, chills, and pelvis pain, it's an emergency to have medical attention.
