Monkey Pox :
Monkey pox a former name of Mpox is an infectious disease caused by a virus named as Monkeypox virus. It is rare viral infection mostly found in the rainforest areas of the Central and West Africa, along with these countries reports suggest that since 2022 there has been an increased spread of monkey pox in North America and European countries. This spread is mainly linked to travelers who act as carriers when they leave the place.
Monkey pox is usually zoonotic disease i.e it can spread between both people and animals. This disease spreads from direct contact with the infected person, through contaminated materials, and from animals during hunting, cooking and skinning. Although any one can get monkey pox people with weaker immune system, pregnant women, individuals with history of eczema and children younger than 1 year of age are more prone to contract the infection. Early intervention and appropriate medical medical treatment are very crucial in cases of monkey pox infection.
