Breast Implant :
Breast implants are described as prostheses that are surgically inserted into the breasts to increase the size of the breasts. Breast implants are usually chosen to restore the previous size of the breast, correct asymmetrical breasts, restore breasts after mastectomy due to cancer or any other condition, and to boost self-esteem and body image. These breast implants are categorized into two types, based on their composition, as silicone implants and saline implants. When the breasts become smaller due to weight loss, ageing, post pregnancy, breast removal or any trauma to the breasts, breast implants are useful. This procedure is performed by a plastic surgeon under general anesthesia or local anesthesia. The potential complications of breast implants are hardening of implants over a period of time, bleeding after the surgery and in rare cases, reduced secretion of breast milk and rare onset of breast implant associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma.
