Bell's palsy :
Bell's palsy can be described as a condition in which there is temporary facial paralysis. Bell's palsy can affect one side of the face. It can be caused due to swelling and inflammation of the seventh cranial nerve, which is used to control the facial muscles. The symptoms that can be observed in the case of Bell's palsy can be drooping of face along with eyebrow, forehead, corner of mouth, eye, eyelid on one side of the face. The other symptoms of Bell's palsy can be dry eyes, loss of taste, facial pain, speaking difficulty, ringing in the ear, difficulty drinking water, ear pain, headache, and sensitivity to sounds. The diagnosis of bell's palsy can be done through physical examination, blood tests, MRI scan, CT scan, electromyography (EMG), spinal tap or lumbar puncture. The management of bell's palsy can be made with therapies, but in most cases, it can subside on its own without any treatment. Treatment methods can be medications, eye care, electrical stimulation, and plastic surgery for the face in case of rare conditions.
