Pancreatitis is an inflammatory condition of the pancreas. Pancreas gland is essential organ for secreting enzymes which are deemed necessary for digestion and insulin resistance. It can cause immense pain and swelling in the upper gastric region with radiating back pain. Simultaneously, the affected individual may experience gastric lining disturbances which induce nausea, vomiting, bloating or bowel changes.
Acute or chronic pancreatitis have several contributing etiological factors which includes family history, substance abuse, hypercholesterolemia and sudden injury to pancreas. It can also lead to developing diabetes and obesity due to poor management of insulin and cholesterol level as a result of pancreatic dysfunction
