Hernia :
A hernia can be referred to as a disease condition, which is the outward protrusion of an internal organ or tissue into the abdominal cavity. Hernia can occur due to various causes, such as abdominal pressure, injury, or weakened muscles. There are many types of hernia, including inguinal hernia, umbilical hernia, femoral hernia, incisional hernia, epigastric hernia, and hiatal hernia. The symptoms that can be seen in the case of a hernia include a bulge felt in the affected area, pain during coughing, discomfort caused by pressure, pain while lifting weights, and swelling. The diagnosis of a hernia can be made through physical examination and a CT scan. Surgical treatment is the only option advised in case of a hernia. In the surgical management of a hernia, the weakened tissues will be corrected by repairing and then closing the opening with sutures. There are two types of surgical treatments, such as robotic surgery for hernia repair and laparoscopic surgery.
