CABG / Open Heart :
CABG refers to Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting and is also called as open heart surgery. CABG aids in restoring the normal blood flow to various regions of heart. This procedure is recommended to manage various cardiovascular conditions such as heart attack, coronary artery disease, angina pectoris and myocardial ischaemia. Open heart surgery is always carried out after conducting diagnostic tests like cardiac catheterization, exercise stress test, ECG, echocardiogram, nuclear cardiac stress test, X-ray angiography, CT scan angiography, coronary calcium scan and lab investigations such as complete blood count and urine analysis. CABG/ Open heart surgery is done using multiple techniques such as off- pump CABG, minimally invasive CABG, robot- assisted CABG and hybrid CABG. Multiple blockages can be effectively treated by CABG/Open heart and it also reduces the risk for follow- up procedures.
