Bell's palsy :
Bell's palsy is described as a condition in which there is temporary facial paralysis. Bell's palsy will affect one side of the face. It will occur due to swelling and inflammation of the seventh cranial nerve, which will be used to control the facial muscles. The symptoms that are seen in Bell's palsy will be drooping of the face along with the eyebrow, the corner of the mouth, the forehead, the eye, and the eyelid on one side of the face. The other symptoms of Bell's palsy will be dry eyes, facial pain, loss of taste, speaking difficulty, inability to drink water, ringing in the ear, ear pain, sensitivity to sounds, and headache. The diagnosis of Bell's palsy will be done based on the physical examination, MRI scan, blood tests, CT scan, spinal tap or lumbar puncture, and electromyography (EMG). The treatment for Bell's palsy will be through therapies, but in most cases, it will subside on its own without any management. The management will be through medications, electrical stimulation, eye care, and plastic surgery for the face in rare conditions.
