Low Sperm Count
Q.

Hi sir, please suggest me. Does a low blood count cause male infertility? Does it have an effect on sperm count? What is the procedure? Are there any natural remedies?

A.

Hi, Low hemoglobin levels in the blood caused by Iron deficiency sometimes impair sperm quality, testosterone production, and testis architecture which affects fertility. Mechanisms involved being Oxidative stress, Decreased enzymatic actions and others.

It is necessary to consult an Andrologist to evaluate the patient and find out where exactly the problem lies.

Natural remedies to increase sperm quantity and count are pretty simple and important. Quit smoking and alcohol, get good sleep and exercise, take a diet rich in antioxidants, avoid fatty foods, and drink adequate water and fluids to keep yourself hydrated.

Low Sperm Count
Q.

Hello, my name is Revanth. I'd like to learn more about male infertility treatment, low sperm count, low motility, and low morphology. Is it treatable, or will I require IVF?

A.

Hi Revanth, low sperm count, low motility and abnormal morphology could be because of various reasons. Evaluation should be done in view of hormonal analysis, ultrasound to rule out Varicovele and also detailed semen analysis. The majority of issues can be dealt with through Antioxidant therapy or surgical treatment for varicocele. IVF is a last resort if other options fail. Hope this clarifies your doubts. Thank you.

Sperm count depends on so many factors...Some are modifiable, some are not... Genetic factors are not modifiable... but environmental, habits and a few other conditions like Varicocele are definitely treatable... Certain types of hormonal imbalances are treatable...and we are experts in that...
