Q.

Good Morning sir, my name is Santosh from sangareddy, Iam facing frequent nosebleeding. What is the reason for sudden bleeding from nose? Whom should i consult for treatment? Is it a sign of major problem?

A.

Nosebleeds, also known as epistaxis, can occur for a variety of reasons. Some common causes of sudden nosebleeds include:

Dry air: Dry air can dry out the nasal membranes, making them more susceptible to bleeding. This is particularly common during the winter months when indoor heating can dry out the air.

Trauma: Injuries to the nose, such as from a blow or fall, can cause nosebleeds.

Nose Picking: Picking your nose can cause trauma to the delicate blood vessels in the nose, leading to bleeding. Allergies: Allergies can cause inflammation and irritation in the nasal passages, which can lead to nosebleeds.

High Blood Pressure: High blood pressure can put pressure on the blood vessels in the nose, causing them to rupture and bleed.

Medications: Some medications, such as blood thinners, can increase the risk of nosebleeds.

Infections: Infections of the sinuses or nasal passages can cause inflammation and irritation that can lead to nosebleeds.

If you experience frequent or prolonged nosebleeds, or if they are accompanied by other symptoms such as dizziness, weakness, or difficulty breathing, it is important to consult an ENT specialist.

Q.

Hi sir/ma'am, This is Shabana, BP is high for me. How do I control it? Can it harm my kidney? Currently, my friends have stated that this problem will continue always. Can I overcome this problem?

A.

Hello, definitely you can overcome the problem. High BP has to be addressed otherwise it might harm your kidney. First, we need to check how much your Blood pressure is. Monitor your readings to assess your BP fluctuations, clinically examine and take appropriate history and give medication that suits you. Firstly reduce stress and reduce salt intake. Through lifestyle modifications, many people have gained control over BP with minimal/no medication also. So consult your nearest Physician for further details or can get in touch with us as well. Thank you
