Hernia :
A hernia is an odd bulge seen in the abdomen or groin region and is observed through an opening or weakness in the muscle that contains it. The common locations of hernia are along the front midline of the abdomen, in the lower chest region through the diaphragm, through a former abdominal surgery incision and in the groin region through the lower abdominal wall and it comes and goes during different activities and different positions. Hernias are categorized into several types, namely, inguinal hernia, femoral hernia, hiatal hernia, umbilical hernia, congenital diaphragmatic hernia, ventral hernia, perineal hernia and incisional hernia. Hernia may occur in people who are suffering from chronic cough, allergies, jobs that involve heavy lifting and long standing hours, a history of abdominal or pelvic surgery, chronic constipation, chronic obesity and pregnancy. Hernia repair surgery is the best treatment to correct a hernia.
