Haemodialysis :
Hemodialysis is a type of dialysis where a machine filters the blood to remove waste products, salts, and fluids. It is done in advanced kidney failure to lead an active life. Types of hemodialysis include in-center hemodialysis, where a technician performs the procedure, and home hemodialysis, where a healthcare professional teaches how to perform hemodialysis so that one can perform on his own. Types of home hemodialysis include conventional home hemodialysis, short daily home hemodialysis, and nocturnal home hemodialysis. If hemodialysis is stopped, toxins will build up in the blood, and the kidneys will eventually fail. Complications of hemodialysis are infection, scar tissue that causes blockage, and blood clots. Side effects can be low blood pressure, nausea and vomiting, dizziness, fainting, chest pain, back pain, headaches, itchy skin, muscle cramps, and restless legs syndrome.
