Cervical Spondylosis :
Cervical spondylosis is a condition in which there is wear and tear of the spine due to older age or other conditions. The symptoms that are seen in cervical spondylosis will be stiffness of the neck, pain in the neck, muscle spasms, dizziness, a clicking sound when the neck is moved, headache, and a bump in the neck region. The diagnosis of cervical spondylosis will be done through physical examination, and diagnostic tests will include an MRI scan, X-ray, CT scan, nerve conduction study, electromyography (EMG), and myelogram. The management advised for cervical spondylosis will be through physiotherapy, application of an ice pack, or heat on the neck, pain relievers, soft collar or brace. If the neck pain becomes severe, treatments will include cervical epidural steroid injection, or radiofrequency ablation should be done. The triggering factors that can cause cervical spondylosis will be smoking, older age, more than 60 years, family history of cervical spondylosis, neck injury, and lifting heavy objects, leading to straining of the neck.
