Cancer :
The term used to describe the abnormal multiplication of cells in the body and its spread to other tissues or organs in the body is called as cancer. There are several types of cancers which affects the body and are categorized into solid cancers, blood cancers, mixed type of cancers. One of the most common type of cancers are breast cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, colorectal cancer, blood cancers. The causes of cancer can be hereditary causes and mutation of cells. The symptoms of cancer that are observed are include coughing up blood, persistent fever, night sweats, fatigue, unexplained weight loss, persistent pain, loss of appetite, blood in stool, lumps or masses in body in cancer affected areas. The diagnostic tests done to diagnose the cancer are tumor marker tests, biopsies which are surgical and non surgical, complete blood count, CT scan, blood tests, MRI scan, ultrasound scan, and genetic testing of cancers. The treatment options that are included in treating cancer can be surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, hormone therapy, transplantation of bone marrow.
