Undescended testis medically termed as cryptorchidism is a common childhood condition when one or both the testicles fail to to descend or move into their usual place i.e the scrotum. The exact cause of the condition is not known, while preterm birth, family history, low birth weight, maternal health, hormonal disruption can influence the development of undescended testicles. Not feeling the testicles in the scrotum is the primary symptom of this condition, while it does not cause any pain or alteration in the urination along with not being associated with any serious health problem. In majority of the cases undescended testis does not require any treatment, due to its self resolution ability, however if the condition persists medical experts would consider surgery as an appropriate choice.
