A physiotherapist is a healthcare professional who specializes in the treatment and recovery of people from injuries, illness or disabilities, which help them regain their physical function and improve their quality of life. They educate patients about their condition, treatment plan, and how to manage their symptoms, provide advice on proper posture and body mechanics and teach them how to safely participate in activities. They are the doctors who obtain a BPT degree from the medical college through intense training. Conditions like musculoskeletal injuries, neurologic disorders, post-surgical rehabilitation, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions are treated by physiotherapists. They employ various techniques like massage, mobilization, joint manipulation, therapeutic exercise, and self-care techniques for the treatment of the patients to promote functional skills and decrease impact of impairment. They work with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors, nurses, and caretakers to provide comprehensive care.
