SAHAYTA Psychiatric Clinic, was conceived, considering all 4 founding members are mental healthcare professionals, to address the need to systematize the mental health sector in India, which as it stands is largely disorganized. Consequently, although there are enough mental health professionals, doing brilliantly in their individual capacity, there exists a severe gap in communication between them, especially in the private sector. This results in situations such as say a patient consults a psychiatrist who then refers him or her to a psychologist practicing at a far-off location, who may then in-turn feel that the patient will benefit under a specialized therapist, again at a different location. Therefore, the patient, although getting the best possible care, has to travel thrice to get these services. Understanding the urgent necessity to address and resolve such and other issues, SAHAYTA came forth as a solution in the form of a single destination for all of a patient’s mental health requirements¬—brining under one roof the best psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, physiotherapists, special educators, etc. that the city has to offer.
