Introduction: It is perplexing that a 10-star rating system does not exist on platforms like Google and other review sites. Dr. Sumanta Dey is among those exceptional physicians who truly deserve such a high rating. I would personally award him 15 stars out of a possible 10. This writing is dedicated to my physician, Dr. Sumanta Dey. In November 2023, I was diagnosed with gallstones and a distended gallbladder. My primary care physician promptly referred me to a general surgeon for a cholecystectomy. The prospect of surgery was daunting, as I had never undergone any surgical procedure before, and understandably, I was quite anxious. Upon visiting Dr. Sumanta Dey, I immediately sensed his awareness of my apprehension. His thorough examination during the consultation significantly alleviated my fears, reinforcing my belief that I was in the best possible hands (I intentionally chose the term "best possible hands" rather than "right hands"). Dr. Dey accurately diagnosed my condition and, with a warm and reassuring smile, addressed all my inquiries regarding the procedure, recovery, and rehabilitation process with remarkable confidence. I even posed some rather trivial questions, which he graciously answered, further easing my anxiety. His kindness is truly commendable. The Day of Surgery: Prior to the operation, Dr. Dey conducted several tests to ensure the utmost safety for his patients. Upon my admission to the hospital, I was under the vigilant care of Dr. Sumanta Dey and his team, who monitored me closely from that very night, reflecting his genuine concern for his patients. The following morning, I was instructed to fast to facilitate a smoother surgical process. As I entered the operating room, I was greeted by my doctor’s sincere smile, which once again bolstered my confidence. After receiving general anesthesia, I regained consciousness in the recovery room, where I learned that the surgery had been successful and without complications.
