Visited for: surgical emergency
My 86 yr old mother had a strangulated hernia in lumbar region, in which her ureter was entangled and had severe pain. Due to her age and other complications some doctors in leading hospitals in Malda have refused to operate before she was admitted to Apollo Gleaneagles Kolkata where we had chance to consult Dr Debmalya Gangopadhyay, without a second thought he was keen to take the challenging case. Very professionally he got the desired tests done and performed the surgery. By the skills of the doctor and grace of god, the recovery was unexpectedly fast. During the process I realized he was god sent for my mother. He was very polite, approachable, explained the problem in layman's language. He maintains a white board in his OPD which he uses to draw diagram and explain the complication to the patient/relatives and also the procedure to be performed. He communicated with the aged patient who is hard of hearing and difficulty to understand a normal communication. At every point of time he not only communicated patiently with the patient till he got desired response, but encouraged and consoled her before and after the surgery too. A true professional. 965099XXXX jkd*****@gmail.comQuestion & Answers by Dr. Debmalya Gangopadhyay
